Summer Reading 2020 - Imagine Your Story

Starting Monday, July 6 - Monday, August 31, 2020

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year's Summer Reading Program will look a little different. We will be using Google forms as a way to facilitate the Summer Reading Program digitally. Below you will find links to the reading logs for adults, teens and children, Summer Reading activity books, and the Google forms to turn in your hours. If you do not have access to the internet and would like printed forms, or need help completing the form, please call your local library for help.

Rules

Children's Program:

- All children’s materials listed below can be found here for SCCLS Summer Reading2020.

-  Children ages 5-12 years old will need to read their age in hours.

- Children ages 0-4 will need to read or be read to for four hours.

- Once your hours are completed, please submit the "Read Your Age in Hours" Google form or return the Read Your Age in Hours form to any SCCLS branch.  This form will help us track which participants have completed their hours and have earned their Summer Reading Completion Prize.

- To pick-up your completion prize, please visit your local branch and call them upon arrival. Prizes will be delivered through curbside pickup until further notice.

- This year, if you would like to earn more entries for prizes, we have activity logs for kids and families to do. For every activity you complete in the Children’s and/or Family activity logs, fill out a Google form online or return an activity form to any SCCLS branch drop box.

Teen Program:

- All teen materials listed below can be found here for SCCLS Summer Reading2020.

- For teens ages 12-18.

- For every book you read, fill out a Summer Reading book log on Google forms, or turn in a printed ticket at your local branch. Each ticket will be added to the teen prize drawings.

- The library will contact winners for prize pick-ups when the Summer Reading Program ends.

- This year, if you would like to earn more entries for prizes, we have activity logs for teens and families to do. For every activity you complete in the Teen and/or Family activity logs, fill out a Google form online or return an activity form to any SCCLS branch drop box.

- This year, teens are encouraged to participate in the Library of Michigan’s MI Library Quest. This quest is a virtual summer library program that encourages teens to “explore” libraries across Michigan. Teens search for codes across participating libraries’ websites and then enter those codes into the Dragon Eradication Inventory.  Participants who enter all 23 code will be eligible to win an Amazon gift card.

Adult Program:

-  All adult materials listed below can be found here for SCCLS Summer Reading2020.

-   For every book you read, fill out an Adult Summer Reading Raffle ticket Google form, or print off an adult raffle ticket and return it to any SCCLS branch drop box to be entered in for a chance to win a prize.
